Who would have thought that a small south pacific nation between latitudes 34'S and 47'S, covering just 266,200 sq km (103,735 sq miles) of land could produce the best jam in the world?
Well, following hard on the heels of other New Zealand success stories such as being the first nation to fly, first to grant women the vote, first to split the atom, being the first nation to conquer Mount Everest and so much more .....it's no surprise that New Zealand has the recipe for success when it comes to 'pure and natural' jam!
It’s also no surprise when you consider that a house and garden on a quarter acre paradise, have formed part of the 'New Zealand dream' for most of the twentieth century.
As recently as the 1970's and even up to the mid 1980's, a thriving veggie garden was seen as an outward manifestation of a good hard-working family. Naturally it saved a few bobs as well!
Many households were self-sufficient in fruit and vegetables, though it meant toiling for hours pulling weeds, fork and shaking soil and waging war on garden pests.
Today our busy lifestyles (and smaller house and land allotments) don't enable us to spend time tending a garden, bottling preserves or sitting on the veranda shelling peas. That's why Anathoth have made sure that 'real Kiwi garden goodness' is right there to enjoy everyday in the pantry throughout the whole Anathoth range.
In fact many people have commented that they gave up making home made jam the moment they tasted Anathoth!
The old fashioned fruit, the old fashioned recipes and the batch cooking method all ensure you get the same old fashioned taste of New Zealand that you remembered from the very first time you tried a hot buttered scone with freshly made raspberry jam. It's a Kiwi tradition. Delicious!
High sunshine - fresh rainwater - fertile soils - picked at their sweetest – Anathoth products are New Zealand's finest! |
