If you’re looking for a pizza with some pizazz, try this Portobello Mushroom Pizza with Hot Honey, Garlic and Thyme, made with Anathoth Farm NZ Tomato with Chilli Pizza sauce.
Ingredients
- Pizza dough for 1 pizza or 1 large pizza base of your choice
- 1/3 cup Anathoth Farm Pizza Sauce Tomato with Chilli
- 1 head Garlic, finely chopped
- 4 Portobello mushrooms
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp Honey
- 150g Mozzarella, sliced 1-2cm thick
- 5 sprigs Fresh thyme leaves
Method
- Preheat oven to its highest temperature (I used 250°C fan-forced), or prepare a pizza oven.
- In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes until beginning to brown. Add mushrooms and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, until mushrooms begin to soften. Add worcestershire sauce and honey, and cook, stirring frequently, until the liquid has thickened.
- Stretch pizza dough to your desired thickness and place on a pizza stone or tray. Spread with Anathoth Pizza sauce and evenly place over mozzarella slices. Evenly distribute the mushroom mixture, and drizzle over any juices and garlic remaining in the pan.
- Bake for 7-10 minutes (watch as it can burn easily), or until pizza base is cooked, cheese is melted and browning spots are visible.
- Season with salt and pepper, scatter over thyme leaves and serve immediately.
